The Filipino Woman in the Poems of Feminist Writers

Abstract:

The Filipino woman is characterized as person who plays a multifaceted role in society. This paper draws on the ideas from a shared identity Bohalana writers on how they portray Filipino women through their poems. The researcher utilized the textual and thematic analysis of research for in-depth inquiry in the feminist poems studied. It looks into the use of the elements of the poetry, specifically; themes, context and imagery to come up a literary interpretation and analysis of the selected poems that will characterize the Filipino woman. The literary investigation has proven that the Boholana poets have a good concept of the Filipino woman and describe artistically what a Filipino woman is in their poems. Filipino woman transcends from being weak helpmate to someone who leads not only in the house but also in the society. The Filipino woman assumes varied roles and her family and society validate her self-worth.
