Factors Affecting the Academic Performance of Elementary Pupils in the Post Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract:

The purpose of the study was to determine the factors affecting the academic performance of Elementary pupils in the post covid-19 pandemic. It utilized the descriptive correlational method of research and applied the following statistical tools: mean and Pearson-r. This investigation used researcher-made survey questionnaire and summative assessment tool. Universal sampling technique was used with a total of 105 respondents from private elementary school of Letran de Davao, Inc where the respondents of the study. The result of the study revealed that in the teachers’ factor, in terms of teachers’ delivery of learning is high, the parents’ factor in terms of parental involvement is also high and pupils’ factor in terms of pupils’ engagement is high. Moreover, there is no significant relationship between teachers’ factor, parents’ factor and pupils’ factor and the academic performance of Elementary pupils. As a recommendation, teachers should encourage pupils to do well in class and encourage them also to ask questions when they do not understand the lesson. Parents should support and monitor their children at school. Pupils should ask question when they do not know the lessons, participate actively in the group discussion and should come to school every day.
