Level of Awareness and Acceptance of the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of Guimaras State College to BSHM Faculty, Students and Stakeholders

Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the level of awareness and acceptability of the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of Guimaras State College among students, faculty, staff, and community. A descriptive survey method of research was utilized involving 220 randomly selected community members and purposely selected faculty and staff of the BSHM program of Guimaras State College Salvador campus. A researcher-made questionnaire which was designed based on the vision and mission of the institutions, the goals of each College, and the program objectives of every curricular offering of the GSC Salvador Campus, was used to collect the data. Data were analyzed using mean to determine their awareness and acceptability of the VMGO. Results of the study revealed that students are generally "highly aware" of the vision and mission of the institution. In addition, they are also "highly aware" of the goals of the college and program objectives. In terms of their level of acceptance, students "highly accepted the college goals of undertaking relevant research, fostering quality and competitive services and products and intensifying involvement in building an environment-friendly community. In addition, students "accepted" the institution's vision, mission, and program objectives.On the other hand, faculty members are "highly aware," and they "highly accepted" the vision and mission of the institution. The staff were found "highly aware" and "highly accepted" of the institution's vision and mission, the College's goals, and the program's objectives. Lastly, community members are "highly aware" of the vision, goals, and objectives and are "aware" of the institution's vision. On the other hand, they "highly accepted" the goal of the College in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation for human resources and sustainable development. These findings indicate that with proper dissemination, students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders are informed of the VMGO of the institution with a high level of acceptance.
