John Harold A. Caslangan | Joseph James A. Verano

Abstract:

The main purpose of this study is to know the Journey of Love of selected NGSB bachelors from selected towns in Quezon and Laguna. Respondents in this study were seven (7) heterosexual males, forty-five to sixty-six (45-66) years of age; six (6) of them were from a town in Quezon and one (1) from Laguna. Findings led that the researchers arrived at a conclusion that these NGSB bachelors experienced common patterns of viewing their Socio-Economic Status by fearful apprehension about the future (Trepidation). Evaluation of the bachelor’s status based on Erikson’s Ego Development indicated that most of the respondents had positive resolutions; being productive and satisfied with their lives as NGSB bachelors. Recommendations were forwarded to increase the welfare of the respondents and to increase the awareness of the public regarding issues related to this group of person. Specifically, the researchers recommended that the LGU should organize a gender sensitivity program for NGSB Senior Citizen groups who struggle with stagnation and despair.
