Abstract:

The increasing number of theories in entrepreneurship and the variety of disciplines from which they originate indicate both the widespread interest in this field and the difficulties that researchers confront in describing and explaining this phenomenon.

In the Philippines, research in the field of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs has been few and far between (Umali 1996). It is understandable then for students in this field to scrutinize such studies for their potential contribution.
