Antonette Enriquez

Discipline: Tourism

Abstract:

The study determined the tourists’ perceptions on the architectural design of the San Sebastian Church in Quiapo, Manila. Selected local and foreign tourists consider the San Sebastian Church unique and attractive because of its gothic revival altar, trompe-l’oeil interior painting, the rose and stained glass windows, including the altar and interior design of the church. The San Sebastian Church should be included in the itinerary for tours in Manila because of its unique architectural design and historical signifcance. The recommendations of the study include repairing the rusting steel base of the Church to preserve its beautiful interior design and to disseminate its signifcance to the community.
