Abstract:

This study provided a modern security system for Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) to protect the network cables in Brgy. Sto Tomas, Biñan, Laguna from burglars. Three alternative solutions for an effective and reliable security system were provided, namely, installation of an alarm system using GSM commander wire break detector, installation of cable security system using Intelligent Vibration Sensor (IVS) with GSM Commander in an underground cable confinement, and installation of CCTV outdoor auto tracking IR high speed dome security PTZ IP Camera. The researchers presented in each alternative the most modern equipment technology that can be used to provide the best system for cable network. Based on the technical and economic factors, the researchers concluded that the best alternative was the use of CCTV outdoor auto tracking IR high speed dome security PTZ IP Camera for it showed annual savings and net present value, greater rate of return, and faster payback period.
