Abstract:

This study explored methods to improve particular sections of the operation of fire-tube boiler in Tanduay Distillers Inc., specifically, the company’s Washing Plant in Cabuyao, Laguna to resolve cost-related issues that the company encountered. Having interviewed key informants and experts on the viable approach to address the problem, the researchers recommended three alternative solutions, namely, the installation of a deaerator, an economizer, and a new fire-tube boiler using coal fuel. The most efficient and economical method among the alternatives was the replacement of boiler, because it has a high rate of return (ROR) and investment. It also has the least disadvantages that can easily be dealt with at par with its profit.
