Level of Awareness of the University of the Immaculate Conception BSND and BSHRM Students about Solid Waste Management

Abstract:

The study dealt with solid waste management. Topics like segregation, composting, incineration, transporting waste to dumpsites, reduce, reuse, recycle are discussed in this study. The purpose of this study was to know and gauge the level of awareness of the ND/ HRM students about the different solid waste management topics. Descriptive comparative method was used to describe accurately and systematically the level of awareness of ND/ HRM students regarding solid waste management. There were one hundred forty (140) students who participated using the survey questionnaires. Frequency distribution, mean and analysis of variance ANOVA were the statistical treatment used to analyse the data and to arrive at a conclusion. Results showed that in terms of awareness on waste management, aware on what it is and that when the results were grouped according to age, sex ,course and year level it shows that there is no significant difference on their level of awareness.
