Correcting in Tandem in Facilitating Writing Skills of Students

Abstract:

Writing is considered as one of the most challenging among the four macro skills. Thus, innovating and discovering strategies which fit students’ capabilities was necessary. The main aim of this action research was to explore the experiences of the students in the utilization of the tandem strategy and how it facilitated in improving their writing skills. Utilizing the interview guide questionnaire and Focus Group (FG), we found that generally the participants had meaningful experience with the tandem strategy. They revealed that they enjoyed the sharing, learned to accept their mistakes, developed confidence, and enhanced knowledge in English grammar. Despite the positive feedbacks, the participants offered suggestions which they believed could improve the strategy. Conclusions were provided.
