Abstract:

This research paper was entitled Describing the Dumingag Subanen Community life in the light of Karol Jozef Wojtyla’s theory of participation. The researchers used a qualitative design particularly on the textual analysis to arrive at the best solution to the problem. This study used Wojtyla’s theory of participation in describing the experiences of the Dumingag Subanen. The discussion of the theory of participation presented the history, principles, fundamentals, and the different views regarding this theory of participation. The notion of participation from Karol Jozef Wojtyla’s theory was expounded to describe the community life of the Dumingag Subanen. Findings of this study are the following; participation has two dimensions such as a property of the person and sharing of humanity to others. This philosophy of Karol Jozef Wojtyla is applicable not only in the Subanen commununity but to all who aims towards a common good.
