NUMBYSTS (A TUTORIAL OF NUMBER-BASED SYSTEM WITH GAME APPLICATION)

Abstract:

Numbysts is an Intelligent Tutoring System that focuses on the number based system (binary, octal, decimal, and hexadecimal) in edutainment form of learning. It is focused not only in teaching the concepts of number based system but also in entertaining the user while he/she is actually learning from the NumBysts. It engages the user to interact with the system through quizzes and exercises. The system can also evaluate what the user has learned from NumBysts. Likewise, the system provides trivia and additional information to the topic in addition to what the user has already learned.

 

The study was designed to fully understand number system. It introduced, reviewed, and practiced the respondents in the covered topics.

 

Survey results showed that 20% of the respondents Strongly Agreed to have tutorial on number based system while 45% Agreed, 24% is Uncertain, 7% Disagreed, and 2% Strongly Disagreed. These proved that there is a need for an Intelligent Tutoring System for number based system.
