Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to make people aware that San Juan City has a lot to offer, especially in terms of history. A lot of people do not know that San Juan City holds a lot of memories signifcant to the Filipinos for it has been a witness to several historical events. People would be able to see some artifacts relevant to the Philippine history in Museo ng Katipunan. The researchers did an actual visit and observation in Museo ng Katipunan and personally distributed the survey questionnaire to the respondents – the visitors of the museum, both resident and non-resident of San Juan City. The respondents of the survey were one hundred and twenty (120) in total. More so, the researchers also went to San Juan City Hall and conducted an interview with the tourism offcer. Likewise, an interview was also conducted with two tour operators. With regards to the problems stated, the respondents perceived that Museo ng Katipunan should be considered as a tourism asset of San Juan City for it is the only museum that mainly focuses on Andres Bonifacio and the Katipunan. However, many people are unaware of the signifcance of historical museums. Thus, one way for them to be recognized is through media exposure, perhaps on television and social media. This could be possible with the funding support of the Tourism Offce of San Juan City or the Department of Tourism.
