ASSESSMENT OF PUPILS PERFORMANCE BASED ON THEIR MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES

Abstract:

This study assessed the pupils’ performance based on multiple intelligences of Grade V and VI of Ludiong Elementary School, Dinas District, Division of Zamboanga Del Sur, for School Year 2019-2020. Using the questionnaire, which was developed by Dr. Howard Gardner, and focus group discussion, the study gathered data on the pupils’ multiple intellegences and were analyzed using statistical tools. Results revealed that majority of the pupils belonged to Spatial/Visual, Musical/Rhythmic and Interpersonal Intelligence. Also, according to the result conducted in two demo runs, a high level of significance between the scores of the pupils from the traditional assessment compared to authentic. This study concludes that pupils of the said school performed best when authentic assessment were utilized. It also recommends the creation of a learning environment that foster a development of all eight intelligences.
