APRIL D. ACIELO

Abstract:

LCC employees, both teaching and non-teaching, are encouraged to be involved in research activities such as conducting institutional research. It is the RDO's culture to produce quality research outputs that can be disseminated and utilized. This study entitled "Competency Needs Analysis in Research among Employees of Lipa City Colleges: Basis for Professional Development Program" employed descriptive research, precisely the survey method of gathering the desired information. The participants were the selected employees of Lipa City Colleges, with or without research conduct experience. This study was conducted at Lipa City Colleges. To determine the usability of the data, the researcher used simple random sampling. Simple random sampling is a subset of a statistical population in which each member of the subset has an equal probability of being chosen. A simple random sample is meant to be an unbiased group representation. Employees need help in utilizing and determining the correct statistical treatment of data and the use of statistical software. There is a significant relationship between the technical competency and the years of service of the employees; dissemination and publication and the years of service; the profile in terms of the department and years of service and the employees' professional ethics and personal attributes.
