Abstract:

The study developed a proposed activity for board examination preparation that could be incorporated into the institution-based assessment of participants’ intelligence, emotional intelligence, adversity quotient and their achievements on Psychology Board courses. Using descriptive correlational research design, 10 graduating psychology students were randomly selected. Data were gathered using Culture fair intelligence test, Work Profile Questionnaire Emotional Intelligence Test, Adversity Quotient Profile and the Achievement Test in the Four Psychology Board Courses by the Carl Balita Review Center. The data were analyzed using descriptive and non-parametric statistics. The findings indicated that most of the participants acquired a high average Intelligence Quotient and got a very low score in Emotional Quotient and below average in Adversity Quotient. The general performance of the participants in the Achievement Test for Psychometrician was below average. There was a weak positive relationship between the participants’ IQ, EQ, AQ and overall Achievement in the Psychology Board Courses. Since the institution already implemented a review regarding the Psychology Board Courses for the students, the researchers recommended that the proposed activities should be included in the board exam preparation to help the students not only in reviewing for the board exam but also in enhancing their emotional and adversity intelligence.
