Abstract:

The Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) is a government agency in Los Baños, Laguna under the DENR. Its main objectives are to: 1) develop a system that can be used to monitor forest progress; 2) implement a GPS-based tracking of field personnel to effectively monitor their attendance and given task; 3) develop a system that will utilize the drone technology for capturing aerial images that serves as evidence for forest improvement; and 4) develop a system that will use image processing for comparative analysis of forest aerial images. With the agency’s problem on data management, the researchers offered to develop a system that can be used to document, analyze, and evaluate programs implemented for forest management, which will effectively help the DENR PENRO in monitoring their programs. The researchers found that the system was able to help DENR-PENRO in making accurate reports and results in specific program and to make the process of their department easier.
