Abstract:

The City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (CCLDO) in the City Government of Cabuyao was created through the initiative and support of Hon. Mayor Isidro L. Hemedes, Jr., by virtue of the Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 024-2008 dated on the 5th of March 2008 that consists of 27 staff members. Its objectives are: (1) to promote cooperatives as instruments for social justice, equality and economic development; (2) to enhance capacities of cooperatives to professionally manage their operations and resources; (3) to provide livelihood opportunities to the residents of Cabuyao, registered sectoral groups/people’s organizations around the vicinity of Cabuyao through sustainable loan programs and community-based and viable livelihood projects; and (4) to attain efficiency, effectiveness and long-term sustainability of the LGU’s livelihood and cooperative loan programs. The primary purpose of this research was to help the employees of CCLDO in processing the loan schemes. Through a descriptive research method, responses and feedback were obtained from the staff of CCLDO. The researchers found that the proposed system was able to help CCLDO lessen the time needed in the encoding and approval of loan applications. Likewise, it could replicate and improve the outputs and information needed by the CCLDO. The researchers recommended that the features must be compatible with its intended user’s ability to use it easily and successfully and checking the residency of the member. Future researchers may improve the current systems’ capabilities.
