A Feasibility of Establishing Marketing Firm for Micro Enterprises in Laguna

Abstract:

The purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of launching a marketing firm named “Marketing Arm” for micro enterprises in Laguna. The firm intended to offer services in social media marketing, which refers to the process of having brand awareness or attention through social media sites. Social media have all the sites that may deliver completely different social actions. Social media marketing is perceived as a more targeted type of advertising and is therefore believed to be very effective in creating brand awareness (https://searchengineland.com/guide/what-is-social-media-marketing, February 25, 2018) and web development and management. It can create a custom website designs that can produce strategic insights to generate a greater brand engagement, measurable results and higher conversions. It can include anything from programming the data of a website to adding content, e-commerce development, and network security, among others. It usually ranges from creating the simplest, plain text to the most difficult web-based applications, social network services and electronic business (https://www.techopedia.com/definition/23889/web-development, February 25, 2018). The locale of the firm will be Laguna since the population of marketing firms is increasing, and they need marketing firm for them to be known and to be cost efficient (psa.gov.ph, October 25, 2017). The study used needs analysis method through a survey. Interviews with key informants were necessary to gain more knowledge in the proposed business. Marketing Arm, a new entry to the industry, gives information to aid in making effective marketing strategies and in tailoring the consumers point of view to the services it offers. The Marketing Arm will be advertised with the use of print advertisement like tarpaulin, brochure and flyers and social media marketing such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The form of organization of the firm will be sole proprietorship since it is the simplest and easy to regulate type of organization. There will be four employees to be hired, namely: general manager, who is responsible for daily operations of the firm; field marketing representative, who serves as a liaison between the firm and the client; web developer, who is in charge of web development and management; and freelancer, who is responsible for the social media marketing. The service cost of social media marketing will be Php 26, 000 and 35, 000 for web development and management and for both services the cost will be Php 61, 000. This study determined that there is feasibility of turning this project into reality in the chosen location, Halang, Calamba City, Laguna since there is an increase in demand in the next five years.
