Offering of BS in Management Accounting Course for Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Calamba

Abstract:

The proposed BS in Management Accounting program in Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Calamba is in accordance with Letran’s mission and vision to serve its clients and to upgrade the quality of school programs. The long-range objective of the project is to provide a better and high-quality standard of education that will aid in fulfilling the Colegio’s goal to be a university in the future. The proposed program, Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA), would be a great help in the business world especially when it comes to financial and non-financial reporting. It would likewise prepare the graduates to their future role as business managers that make plans and better decisions. The investment cost would be financed by the institution, which is Php 504,355.23, with its payback period of 0.10 years or 37 days. The net present value is Php 43,779,487.01 while the internal rate of return is 1067% with computed profitability index of 86.80. After evaluating all aspects of the study, the researchers concluded that there is a potential market for BS in Management Accounting program in Letran - Calamba, and thus, it is financially feasible.
