Abstract:

The main objective of this study was to determine the feasibility of constructing a website search engine that contains the compiled list of undergraduate students’ research work from colleges and universities that are members of Network of CALABARZON Educational Institution (NOCEI) based in Region 4A. There is a need to create a centralized research database in CALABARZON since most of the students, specifically graduating students, are required to accomplish their research paper as a terminal requirement. In the initial stage of the research, student researchers spend most of their time reviewing related literature and studies. They go to other academic institutions to find any applicable research materials that can help them better understand the focus, scope, and methodology of their research among others. Consequently, many student researchers would benefit from having a centralized research catalogue because it could provide them easy access to the list of studies done in other schools. Interviews with key informants from the ten (10) academic institutions were performed, and results showed that nine out of ten highly approved the project. This project was deemed to be feasible because it would be beneficial to both the students and the institution. This project may need to be presented to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for possible funding.
