Abstract:

This study determined the feasibility of putting up a cat and dog café in Halang, Calamba City, Laguna, its market, degree of market acceptability of the public regarding such café, and its capability to sustain its market. This cat and dog themed café is not a typical café that serves different snacks and beverages; it also gives a privilege to the customers to play with the different breeds of felines and canines. Using a descriptive research design, the study obtained data through surveys and personal interviews with the 397 respondents within the target area. This project can increase pet care awareness and encourage pet adoption. It will also provide job opportunities to those who are unemployed as they will be hired by the proposed establishment, thus lessening the unemployment rate in the city. It could also contribute to the total economic development of the city as it will pay taxes, permits, and licenses to the local government. Hence, future studies may also look into obtaining high quality breeds of felines and canines that will be considered “working cats and dogs” to attract and gain more customers. Moreover, such pets’ health conditions must be given proper care and attention as they are considered the main attraction of the business. They may likewise add more choices to the café’s menu and at the same time use social media to promote the café.
