Anson Jay L. Bantaya | Christian Paul S. Barola | Ezekiel Daniel M. Nido

Abstract:

This project study focused on the design and fabrication of package type wastewater treatment for fast food restaurants. This prototype would help the fastfood restaurants comply with the requirements of DENR Administrative Order No. 2016 - 08 since this Administrative Order aims to protect and preserve the Laguna Lake ecological systems. Likewise, the Department of Health requires that wastewater must be properly treated to minimize its potential harm to people and the environment. By reusing the treated water for cleaning purposes, the fastfood restaurants can conserve water. The prototype consists of compact water treatment components for easy handling and transfer. It has grease interceptors, product tank, metering pump, centrifugal pump, multimedia filter and clean water tank. With these components, complying with the requirements of the different administrators in wastewater treatment will be possible. The researchers recommended an improvement of the wastewater treatment component to make the prototype precise. The size of the prototype should be compact for its easy transfer from one place to another. Lastly, making different designs of multi-media filter is likewise encouraged.
