Abstract:

A treadmill is an activity machine that enables a person to remain in one place while running or walking. The transport line moves back and forth that allows somebody to walk or run a corresponding speed. The rate of one’s running or walking is equivalent to the speed of the moving belt. Offering a modification to the existing machine in the market, this study investigated the components and materials for the fabrication of a three-wheeled treadmill operated vehicle, enumerated the safety considerations of the vehicle, and calculated the cost of the project. The data were gathered through interviews with the experts in the field. The components and materials for the fabrication of a three-wheeled treadmill operated vehicle are 24V DC generator, 4 6V batteries, mechanical treadmill, treadmill frame, brakes, component box, head and taillights, wheels, chain and belt, sprockets and chain rings, USB ports, rollers and other accessories. As a safety consideration, all parts and materials were checked to make sure that the machine would work. The cost of the project would be ® 22, 793.00. The researchers recommended that further improvement of the prototype may be done. Future researchers may add more features on the treadmill vehicle. For instance, they may install shock absorbers in the rear axle of the vehicle for a more comfortable ride. They can also revise some parts of the project design to be an ergonomic three-wheeled treadmill operated vehicle.
