Abstract:

Poultry farms play a huge part in economic progress as these farms culture and nurture animals, which serve as sources of food and income within the community. To support poultry farms, the researchers proposed an enhanced egg incubator using solar power as its source of energy. A belt conveyor system would be added so that those eggs at hatching stage would be easily sorted. The researchers interviewed farm owners and poultry workers, and the results showed that there was a higher efficiency of using the prototype instead of the traditional ones since the incubator utilized automated functions and acquired higher savings in terms of manpower, energy, and functionality. As a recommendation, automatic sorting of the eggs may be done to ensure quality hatching and prevent spoilage and wastage.
