Abstract:

This study showcased the famous delicacies as a way of promoting local tourism in the province of Laguna. Utilizing a descriptive design, the researchers interviewed three Tourism Officers, storeowners and three tourists. Fifteen tourists also participated in the survey. Findings revealed that the famous delicacies of Los Baños and Victoria Laguna can be considered as a tourist attraction on its own. These delicacies can help the local residents with their livelihood. Job opportunities for residents can also be increased. In addition, these delicacies became the trademark of their municipalities and have been instruments in promoting food tourism of the towns, as well as the Laguna province. According to tourists, they prefer the distinct and unique taste and quality of these delicacies. The researchers recommended that the storeowners should improve the food packaging in order to attract more tourists. Local government should also organize seminars for the residents on how to make and improve the delicacy to provide additional income and possible employment.
