Abstract:

This research aimed to determine the learning experience of Tourism students who participated in the international tour as well as their perceptions and the problems they encountered during the tour. The researchers interviewed sixteen (16) respondents and utilized data from four (4) academic years. Interview guides and researchers’ journals were used to gather information. The data from the interview in this qualitative study were gathered from March 6 to 11, 2018. The study revealed that the international tour was appropriate and relevant to the subject/course as it helped the students experience the culture and tradition of other places and exposed them to their future professions. They could apply the various learning experiences from the tour when given opportunities to do so, and they also learned about the tradition of the places they visited. International tour therefore greatly helps the students to learn more about their future career. It was recommended that the STHM must provide an orientation or pre-departure briefing for the participants regarding the rules and regulations for them to be aware of the dos and don’ts in international tour.
