BRIGADA ESKWELA THEN AND NOW: COORDINATORS DISCOURSE

Aaron Lopez | Marciano B. Melchor

Abstract:

This study aimed to explore the Brigada Eskwela coordinator's discourse on the ways they implemented this program before the pandemic and during the pandemic stage or the so-called new normal. This study used thematic analysis as postulated by Braun and Clarke. Specifically, the study aims to draw significant information from the participants in terms of the personal experiences of the Brigada eskwela (BE) coordinators, their coping mechanisms in implementing Brigada Eskwela in the new normal and to determine educational management insights as drawn from the findings of the study conducted in Binugao District, Davao City. Based on the findings of the study, it is important that some important moves must be taken into consideration and be made available to all the stakeholders to keep the Brigada Eskwela steadfast. The BE coordinators may continue to encourage all the stakeholders to participate in the annual activities. Despite the limited human resources in the program implementation, they should keep encouraging all possible participants to continue supporting the school programs in their own ways. The learners, along with their parents, should look into their possible contributions in implementing the Brigada Eskwela in the new normal
