Abstract:

At present, there are still problems that are being encountered in the BotiCab (Botika ng Cabuyao) at the Municipality of Cabuyao. First, the membership and medicine transaction process are still time consuming. Next is the impractical use of paper booklets as way of identification for its legitimate members. Kiosk is an essential and convenient way to access information for the businesses of each use. For this, the proponents used fingerprint based biometric system that can greatly improve security means of member’s data and faster/automated process of buying medicine and laboratory fees. In constructing the design project entitled ABC: Automated Boticab System with Queueing Kiosk, the proponents utilized iterative model type of system development life cycle (SDLC). Registration is the initial process before to access at the Transaction System and Kiosk System. It includes the enrollment of fingerprint using scanner and sensor for authentication, especially the fingerprint biometrics SDK (Software Development System) which served as a device library. In the transaction system, fingerprint was used for medicine transaction and ends the operation if the balance is insufficient. At the kiosk system, fingerprint authentication of beneficiary was also used in this procedure. The thermal printer can generate a receipt paper for the remaining balance of free medicine, option print of basic information and number for queueing system. All personal information of beneficiary in every inquiry, registration and transaction can be stored at the Boticab database. Results show that the device can be an innovative method in the system for transaction of each beneficiarythrough the use of the kiosk. The implementation of the new system using Kiosk and fingerprint based biometric system at the Boticab, the number of stolen identity can result into zero incident and give update for beneficiaries’ information instead of asking Boticab staff.
