Abstract:

The study was designed to show the effectiveness of photo exhibit as a potent information-education-communication tool for dolphin conservation on selected students of St. Paul University Manila. With this established goal in mind, the study aims (a) to measure the level of awareness of the respondents about dolphins and their situation; (b) to introduce the concept of conservation photography as a visual tool to address environmental concern; (c) to use photography in elevating respondents’ environmental knowledge on dolphin conservation; (d) to utilize photo exhibit in educating the public on the importance of dolphins in the marine ecosystem; and, (e) to prove photo exhibit’s capability to incite people into action in protecting the marine environment. The formulated questions implied education and influence. The respondents’ increased level of awareness supported the premise that the effectiveness of photo exhibit was a potent information-education-communication tool for dolphin conservation.
