Abstract:

The Information Center Technology or ICT-assisted instruction is important in improving the teaching-learning process in science. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of readiness of teachers on ICT-assisted instruction and learning motivation of students in science. Respondents of the study were 125 grade six students from Guihing Central Elementary School. It used a correlation method of research, validated questionnaire, mean and Pearson r. The findings revealed that the level of readiness of teachers on ICT-assisted instruction was high and the level of learning motivation of students was also high. The study further revealed that there was no significant relationship between the readiness of teachers on ICT-assisted instruction and learning motivation of students. Teachers should conduct a thorough review on the different factors that affect the learning motivation of students, and that will stimulate their interest in learning science. They should carefully plan and design their science lessons as well as make use of appropriate and effective teaching materials, useful and suitable devices that can foster student’s interest. In order to enhance the students’ learning and understanding of the science concepts, students should be provided with sufficient, and thought-provoking activities.
