Development of Technology-Based Instructional Materials in Teaching Purposive Communication
John Paul C. Afalla
Discipline: Education
Abstract:
This study aimed to develop
and evaluate Technology-based
Instructional Materials (TIMs) for
teaching Purposive Communication to
first-year BEED students at Quirino
State University. Using both
descriptive and developmental
research designs, the study assessed
the acceptability of the TIMs based on
expert evaluation and tested their
reliability through a test-retest
method. Results showed high expert
agreement on the appropriateness and
usefulness of the TIMs. The test-retest
correlation indicated high reliability (r
= 0.848). Most test items were either
accepted or recommended for
revision, indicating room for
improvement in the assessment tools.
The study concludes that the TIMs are
effective tools for improving student
learning and engagement in Purposive
Communication.
