Abstract:
Starting college can be a daunting experience for many students. It can be challenging to adjust to a new social and
academic environment. Some students feel a sense of belonging right away, while others struggle to find their place
within the university community. It is not uncommon for students to face difficulties when transitioning to college
life, such as homesickness, anxiety, and the pressures of academic expectations. However, with the right resources
and support, students can overcome these challenges and thrive in their college experience. This study aimed to
determine and investigate the relationship between perceived stress and belongingness, engagement, and selfconfidence among 163 College Freshmen in Quezon City. The data were gathered through survey questionnaires. The
results revealed a moderate negative correlation between perceived stress and belongingness (Estimate = -0.005, p =
0.498), while it was found that perceived stress and engagement have a moderate negative correlation (Estimate = -
0.247, p = 0.001). Moreover, it was found that perceived stress and self-confidence also have a moderate negative
correlation (Estimate = -0.138, p = 0.080).
