Level of Acceptability and Accessibility of E-Wallets Amongst Entrepreneurs
Kriezen Rose P. Bautista | Angel Mae D. Cabulisan
Abstract:
Along with new circumstances and technological advancements, the transition to a cashless transaction has accelerated rapidly since the outset of the pandemic. Thereupon, the operations of most businesses came to a halt during the COVID-19 pandemic, and most entrepreneurs shifted to e-wallets to mitigate losses. The study explores the relationship between the level of acceptability and accessibility of using ewallets amongst entrepreneurs integrating the Technology Acceptance Model and Financial Inclusion Model. The role of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use toward usage, quality, awareness, infrastructure, social, and access were also key determinants in examining the relationship in using e-wallets. With the quota sampling method, a total of one hundred (100) entrepreneurs who use e-wallets were selected to participate. Based on the results, there is increasing evidence of e-wallet payment acceptability and accessibility in Ilocos Norte. More specifically, perceived usefulness influences usage, awareness, social, and access, whereas perceived ease of use influences usage, awareness, quality, social, and infrastructure. Accordingly, this study helps entrepreneurs further develop a profound understanding of determining the factors that influence the continued acceptance and equitable access of e-wallets necessary to redefine business dynamics.
