Comparative Evaluation Of Traditional Methods And Recommended Practice Of Planting Sweet Potato

Paz Saladaga-Eronico | Rodolfo G. Escalada

Abstract:

Generally 1 no significant differences in agronomic character and yield components of weet potato were observed using either the traditional method or the recommended practice of planting. Varying the number of cutting per hill igniflcantly influenced only the fresh vine weight of Kaim y, BNAS-51 and Samar Big Yellow weet potato varieties. Plants that de eloped from one cutting per hill produced heavier herbage than the other treatments. Root ield was likewise not markedly affected by the number of cutting per hill although the varieties ignificantly differed in this parameter. Among the varieties, Kaimay obtained the highest value in yield and nearly an yield component
