Abstract:
RareJob, a rapidly growing online English education platform, faces challenges in onboarding its geographically dispersed workforce. Traditional text-based manuals struggle to capture attention and ensure knowledge retention. This capstone project investigated the potential of digitally animated instructional videos to revolutionize RareJob's onboarding process.
The project involved developing engaging and informative animated videos based on RareJob’s onboarding modules. The animation process utilized industry-standard software like Adobe Animate and Photoshop to create characters, integrate voice-over narration, and ensure a polished final product.
This study demonstrated the effectiveness of animated instructional videos in enhancing understanding, retention, and fostering a culture of continuous learning among new hires. The project explored the entire production process, from scriptwriting to video editing, providing valuable knowledge for future video creation endeavors. These animated videos pave the way for a more interactive and engaging onboarding experience for RareJob tutors.
Further research suggests that user testing, personalized content, and a comprehensive video library can improve the effectiveness of this approach. Exploring cost-effective production strategies and promoting the benefits to decision-makers are crucial for wider adoption. This project lays the groundwork for utilizing animation to create a more effective and engaging onboarding experience.
