Discipline: tourism, transport and travel

Abstract:

The research study is to test the acceptability of the ecotourism website as a tool for enhanced tour guiding practices of local tour guides in selected municipalities of Quezon Province. The researchers aimed to develop a proposed training guideline that includes local guiding practices for the local tour guides to use as they provide and confirm relevant information uploaded related to their town of expertise and/or field of endeavor. This research assessed the suitability of the content of QEW, determined the level of satisfaction of the recipients, and evaluated QEW in terms of usability, speed, aesthetics, content, contact information, website maintenance, and being mobile-friendly. This research employed a descriptive quantitative research approach with the aid of a validated survey questionnaire for volunteer participants who were chosen purposively. This includes local tour guides, municipality and provincial tourism officers, travel agencies, residents, and tourism students who were chosen to answer the survey instrument via Google Form. The locale was selected from ecotourism cities and municipalities in Quezon province identified by the provincial tourism office. A descriptive statistic was used, such as frequency count, percentage, average, and a 4-point Likert scale survey questionnaire on the level of acceptability of users in different dimensions or features of the website.
