The study aimed to determine the competencies and work performance of public secondary school teachers in Binangonan District, Schools Division Office of Rizal, during the School Year 2024-2025. The study considered 25% percent of the total population of 800 teachers in the said schools. This consists of 200 teachers. They were chosen utilizing a simple random sampling technique. A descriptive survey research design was employed, utilizing a researcher-made questionnaire checklist as the instrument for gathering the needed data on the level of competencies of the respondents with respect to self-management, professionalism and ethics, result focus, teamwork, service orientation, and innovation. Documentary analysis was also applied, as the latest ratings in the Individual Performance Commitment and Review Form (IPCRF) of the respondents served as the basis for determining the level of their work performance. The results revealed that public secondary school teachers are highly competent in terms of self-management, professionalism, ethics, results focus, teamwork, and innovation. Moreover, public secondary school teachers have an overall Very Satisfactory work performance. Likewise, there is a significant relationship between the level of competencies of teachers and their level of work performance. It was concluded that the level of competencies of public secondary school teachers with respect to self-management, professionalism, and ethics, results focus, teamwork, and innovation is associated with their level of work performance. It was recommended that teachers be provided with more opportunities to attend seminars and training for their professional development and to enhance their teaching performance. School heads may encourage and support teachers to pursue graduate education for their professional growth and development.
