Abstract:

This study presents a comprehensive training needs assessment for both teaching and non-teaching personnel from a Philippine Private Higher Education Institution. In an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving academic landscape, institutions must continuously strengthen workforce capabilities to maintain educational quality, innovation, and industry relevance. The primary objective of this study is to identify existing skills gaps, professional development needs, and priority training areas among employees to inform employees of the design of targeted and strategic capacity-building programs. A descriptive assessment approach was employed to examine the alignment of current competencies with institutional goals, including academic excellence, innovation in teaching and learning, and responsiveness to industry demands. The study further explores how training initiatives can support faculty and staff professional growth, improve job performance, and enhance student learning outcomes. Key focus areas include competency development, alignment with industry standards, and compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements. Findings of the training needs assessment are expected to guide the optimization of institutional training programs by ensuring that resources are directed toward high-impact areas. This includes addressing critical skills gaps, enhancing pedagogical and technical competencies, and strengthening faculty and staff readiness for emerging educational and technological trends. Ultimately, the results aim to support evidence-based decision-making in human resource development, ensuring that the institution maintains its competitive advantage and continues to deliver high-quality, future-ready education.
