Discipline: business studies

Abstract:

Farm entrepreneurship is a growing field in the agriculture industry. It focuses on applying business methods and strategies to local farming methods, specifically in crop cultivation. The subject of the study is the lived experiences and challenges of farmer-entrepreneurs in Batangas, Philippines. The study acquired a qualitative phenomenological approach to attain realistic data that benefits related individuals appropriately. Five participants?farmer-entrepreneurs of the locale that owns and operates farms, with agriculture being their primary source of income. They also have a reasonable amount of knowledge and experience in trade. The transcendental phenomenological analysis resulted in acquiring themes from the narratives centered between two elements: (1) the challenges in product distribution, state policies and regulations, and intricacy of accounting, and (2) the farm management techniques practiced by the people in business to combat or cope with the primary obstacles. Notably, the participants have feasible recommendations and solutions for the internal and external factors affecting them. However, there is a lack of communication between them and the principal medium, the government. It is deduced that creating a proper dialogue between the state and farmer-entrepreneurs may alleviate the unfavorable circumstances of the latter and give way to creating laws that will thoroughly benefit the agricultural industry.
