Abstract:

This study assessed the employability status of Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA) graduates of Quirino State University–Diffun Campus from batches 2022 to 2024. Specifically, it determined the graduates’ demographic profile, employment status, transition from school to work, employment characteristics, perceived relevance of their current job to the BSOA program, perceived usefulness of acquired skills, challenges encountered by unemployed or underemployed graduates in seeking employment, and satisfaction with the program’s preparation for employment. A quantitative-descriptive survey design was employed. The study used simple random sampling and included 139 respondents from a population of 189 BSOA graduates. Data were collected using an adapted and modified CHED Graduate Tracer Study questionnaire through printed questionnaires and Google Forms and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and weighted mean. Results revealed that most graduates were female, single, and employed. The majority secured their first job within six months after graduation, primarily through personal referrals and recommendations. Most employed graduates worked in rank-and-file positions in private companies and held jobs that were relevant to the BSOA program. The skills acquired were generally perceived as useful and adequate for workplace demands, particularly in interpersonal relations, professional ethics, and time management. Unemployed and underemployed graduates identified educational qualification requirements, lack of work experience, and competition in job applications as serious employment challenges. Graduates also expressed high satisfaction with the BSOA program and recommended strengthening digital and technical skills training and internship experiences. The findings provide input for curriculum enhancement and continuous improvement of graduate employability outcomes.
