The First Third-World Conference on the theme of "Developing Theater in the Third World" was attended by delegates from the Khmer Republic, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, the German Democratic Republic, Korea, France, Uganda, the Federal Republic of Germany, Sweden, Australia, Sudan, Japan, the United Arab Republic, Israel. Poland, Puerto Rico, India, the United States of America, and the Philippines. I attended as Philippine delegate and Coordinator of the Research and Information Center of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA), which acted as conference secretariat.
