Salient Contemporary Developments in Educational Psychology

Abstract:

Educational psychology is a field of study which is immensely broad in scope and varied in content. It is primarily concerned with the application of empirically derived psychological principles to the teaching learning process. It is interested in the design of optimum learning conditions which will facilitate efficient and effective human learning. Its major principles and generalizations are drawn from four areas of psychology, namely, (I) psychology of learning, (2) human development, (3) personality and social psychology, and (4) statistics and measurement.
