Western Literature and the Chinese

Abstract:

The first international Conference on Comparative Literature sponsored by the, Tamkang College of Arts and Sciences' Western Literature Research Institute was held in Taipei, Taiwan, from July 19 'to July 23, 1971. 'The conference was geared primarily towards the discovery of the literary relations between China and other countries and, according to its- organizers, the conference was the first of its kind to be held in Taiwan and probably in the whole of Asia.
