Abstract:

Better known as a novelist, Liwayway A. Arceo has just come out with her first collection of short stories in Pilipino, Mga Piling Katha. With this anthology, literary historians and scholars studying the short story diachronically will be in a better position to gain a clearer view of the genre's development, specifically from the war years until the 1980s, the period in which most of Arceo's stories were written.
