The Writer and Aesthetic Distance: or How Far Away Can One Hear the Distant Drums without being Tagged a Lunatic

Ester Vallado Daroy

Discipline: Literary Criticism

Abstract:

My purpose in this paper is to present some of these pet theories about how and why the artist works, and although I may show some bias for one or two, I do have grave doubts about them. Perhaps in some ways I may fin loopholes through which I may, consciously, facetiously or otherwise, inject the ego, if you wil1 forgive me, that the artist in me either confirms or denies.
