Abstract:

This study focused on minimizing the fuel cost of boiler of San Pablo Manufacturing Corporation in San Pablo City, Laguna. It also aimed to enumerate the economic benefits and to forward recommendations that would reduce the boiler fuel cost.

The study found out that the company experiences huge fuel consumption of an average of 108 liters per hour. Based on the interview conducted, this situation pushed the company to find ways to reduce the fuel cost of the steam generating unit. San Pablo Manufacturing Corporation is planning to convert their steam generating unit into a solid fired boiler to solve the existing problem.

The study recommended three alternative solutions to solve the existing problem. Design calculations, schematic diagrams, figures, and economic study were shown in each alternative solution. Practicality, feasibility, efficiency, and cost were considered in selecting the best alternative.
