Abstract:

The continuing presence of US military bases in our country "is a clear derogation of our national sovereignty." Its presence is a continuing hallmark of our colonial relationship with the United States of America. For years, it has symbolized foreign intervention in our internal affairs, and an insult to our national dignity and independence. In fact, the bases do not serve any other purpose than to safeguard U.S. interests in this part of the globe.
