Let Our History Be as Much A Source of Enthusiasm as A School of Wisdom

Hon. Manuel Lim

Discipline: History

Abstract:

It is said that history has two eyes, namely, geography and chronology, and that whoever can look through these eyes in a serene, sincere and objective manner, "free from passion, unbiased by interest, fear, resentment, or affection, and faithful to the truth," can lay some claim to being its follower or exponent. Not alone as a member of this association but even more so perhaps as one who has considerable obsession for the social knowledges and arts, I should like to be considered for the honor.
