Bibliographic Annotations on the Philippine Revolutionary Documents at the U.S. T. Archives: A Continuing Study

Maria Eloisa Parco-de Castro

Abstract:

The arbitrary classification and cataloguing of documents at the University of Santo Tomas Archives, in general, has affected the use of documents pertaining to the Philippine Revolution, such that they have not been put to optimum use. Further, a number of other sources were unknown until recently. This bibliographic study is a work-in-progress begun in 1995 which aims to identify, describe. and assess documents on the Philippine Revolution, specifically drawing attention to sources which are not generally known to scholars. This paper is also a sustained attempt. To devise an organized system of locating these documents which may hopefully lead to a further broadening of discourses on the Revolution.
